In April 2002, Rod and LaJune Lundquist -- along with their daughter's family (Lisa & Shaun Kanak), were sitting in the family room of their modest home in Stafford County wishing they could make a real difference in the lives of people around them. The topic moved to Lisa and LaJune's love of scrappbooking and the sense of family and community it created, and how they missed the fun crops they had enjoyed in Arkansas.
Lisa and LaJune had been to many crop events in the area, but none seemed to "fit." This family group of Shaun, Lisa, Rod and LaJune decided to host crops events in Fredericksburg that were fun, but still affordable to most scrapbookers. At that time, none of them ever thought they would become store owners.
By July of 2002, the dream had become a reality. We set up our first crop at The Howard Johnson's on Route 1, in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Rod, LaJune and Lisa (with baby Kathryn in tow), ran demonstrations, showed of new product, gave away prizes -- and helped everyone who attended that inaugural event have a great time.
It wasn't long before crop attendees began clamoring for the family to open a new store. But it would be nearly eighteen months before their desires would be fulfilled.
Finally on January 2, 2004, The Cropper's Corner opened its doors for the first time. Boasting a large, comfortable crop center -- with a separate classroom, a huge tool center, plus many of the latest and greatest products.
This is the place where inspiration meets fun -- from fun-filled events, to inspirational demonstrations and layouts, we strive to give you the best scrapbook experience around.
