Q: Can anyone crop in your crop room? A: Yes. Anyone may crop in our crop room. VIP's crop for free (see VIP Club for information about how you can be a VIP). If you aren't a VIP, the charge is $1 per hour, maximum of $3 a day Monday-Friday. Saturday, the charge is $2 per hour, maximum of $5. We will run a tab for people cropping in our crop room, and you are free to use any of the crop area tools (trimmers, deco scissors, paper crimper, eyelet setter, templates, coluzzles, books, QuicKutz, etc.) Q: Can my child crop with me? A: Children 12 and under may crop for free with an adult. Children 13 and over are subject to the same fee structure (or VIP structure) as an adult. We only ask that you crop responsibly with your child -- and ensure that your child does not disrupt others who may be cropping there too. Q: May I rent the crop room for a private party? A: Yes. The fee for renting the crop space is the same as our regular charge. Groups of 12 or under may use the classroom, as long as there is no class scheduled. Groups of 15 or more may use the regular crop space. Q: Why do you charge for using the Die Cut Center? A: Any Die Cut Center is expensive, and our goal is to provide the largest -- and most up-to-date -- center in the state. Many stores have a policy which allows the free use of the die cut center with purchase of their paper. That sounded like a headache to "make sure" everyone who was using the die cut center had purchased the paper at our store -- or purchased it right then. So, we opted for a Club instead. This way, our customers can use the Die Cut Center anytime -- with whatever they choose (fabric, embossing metal, tacky tape, foamies, sponge, and yes, paper). We also take the money from our Die Cut Center and re-invest it for new equipment. Which means Die Cut Club Members and VIPs always have more to choose from. At which point, we will purchase more new dies for the center. Q: What do I do if I have a problem with The Cropper's Corner? A: Call the store, or bring the item with you when you return. Ask to speak with Amanda, Marilyn, Marcy, Tammie, Lisa or LaJune (one of us is almost always there). Tell us what the problem is, and we will do whatever we can to fix it. Q: I've noticed things are arranged differently in your store. Why is that? A: We looked outside of the "normal" scrapbook stores for inspiration on merchandising. We have devoted a section of the store for "coordinated themes" including: Elegant Scrapbooking, Disney & Licensed Products, Baby & Child, School & Sports, Seasonal & Vacation, Pets, Scouts & Outdoors, Uniformed Services, cardmaking and Vintage. We also have some papers and embellishments grouped by manufacturer (Doodlebug and Chatterbox, Bazzill and Worldwin), because they can be used for anything. We also have a more "generic" section of embellishments and accessories. These aisles include quotes and title stickers, many Jolee's for a variety of themes, brads, buttons, eyelets, beads, fibers, ribbon, Making Memories, stamps, inks, glitters, glitter glues, templates, tools, pens and adhesives. We've tried to make things fairly easy to find. But, when in doubt -- we'll do our very best to help you out! Q: Do you have charity events -- or do other things for the community? A: Absolutely. As local store owners, we believe we have an obligation to support our local area. So, we are involved in fundraising projects in King George, Spotsylvania, Stafford, Caroline and Orange Counties -- as well as the City of Fredericksburg. From scouts, to schools, to fundraising drives for local and national charities -- we want to help as much as we are able. Q: Why don't you have a child's play area? A: We were advised against it. According to several insurance companies, having a child's play area is treated as if we were running a day care. We are in the process of bringing in some more child-friendly activities, but have no plans to initiate a formal "child's area" at this time. Q: Do you take special orders? A: We do our best to fill every special order we can. Sometimes this can be difficult, as everyone wants something a bit different. However, we should be able to order practically any album, tool, or organizational item without too many difficulties. Paper and Stickers might be a little more difficult, but we will still make the attempt.
